All practitioners at Total Podiatry are keen sportspeople, so understand the unique stresses placed on the body by specific sports. They also understand the desire to get back to full fitness as quickly as possible and to avoid recurrent injury and pain.

Sports Podiatry can be divided into two primary areas:

Sports Injury and Rehabilitation and

Performance Enhancement

Sports injury and rehabilitation is most often when a podiatrist is called in because there is an existing condition or injury which has been caused through overuse or a specific trauma.

Performance enhancement takes a proactive look at the intrinsic (such as biomechanics, musculoskeletal factors, gender, age) and extrinsic (training schedule, equipment, technique) factors specific to you and your sport which may be influencing your performance.

By providing advice and where necessary treatment we can assist you with attaining biomechanical efficiency and reducing the risk of injury.
